John C. Johnston III

is Director of Business Development for Global-Design Interactive, an Integrated Marketing Solutions firm based in Owings Mills, MD – the largest minority-owned web design company in the Baltimore, MD Market.

With more than 17 years of retail and management experience, Johnston has held various positions with Staples, Kmart, Hechinger’s and Circuit City, including serving as a general manager, a member of Staples’ MD/DC area Ethnic Diversity/ Marketing Programs Committee for six years as well as a liaison for their national partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

A member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., he is president and founder of the Calvary AME/Betty & Cherise Johnston Scholarship Foundation, as well as serves on the boards of the Literacy Council of Prince George’s County, MD. Inc. and Youthful Inspirations Magazine. Johnston was educated at Lincoln University in PA, where he received his BS in Business Administration with a minor in Criminal Justice.
