an Instructional Coach and Educational Consultant has been the Curriculum Director of Reading for the District of Columbia Public School System, Director of Education for Associates for Renewal in Education, Inc., a Supervisor of Reading, a Reading Specialist and a classroom teacher.

Dr. Turner received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Maryland State Teachers College, a M.A. in Reading and Special Education from George Washington University and an Ed.D. in Reading and Leadership and management from the University of Mass., in Amherst, Mass.

Having conducted several workshops, presentations and speeches locally as well as nationally, she has been an instructor for the University of the District of Columbia, George Washington University, Trinity University and the University of Mass.

Dr. Turner, who has written materials for major professional journals and reading textbooks, is a member of many professional organizations and was president of the District of Columbia Reading Council, actively participating in the activities of the International Reading Association.

During the 2005-2006 school year, Dr. Turner functioned as an Instructional Coach at the New School for Enterprise and Development Public Charter School and as an Adjunct Professor for Special Programs (supervisor of new teachers) at American University.
