is the co-producer of the Don Welch stage play
The Bachelorette Party which was recently
optioned by Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment. Thomas, an alumnus of Lincoln University and Temple University Masters of Film and Media Arts program earned his degree with concentrations in writing, directing and cinematography. He wrote and directed his first play called Reminisce of Black Love which landed him a fellowship with the Philadelphia Drama Guild under the direction of Freedom Theatre’s Artistic Director Walter Dallas.

Soon after, film festivals began to request to see his dynamic film entitled, A Shepherd’s Story. Requests came in from the Roxbury Film Festival (Boston), the Jamerican Film Festival (Bahamas), the New York and Los Angeles International Film Festivals, and also the Black Film Dot Com tour, which included New York, Atlanta and Chicago, with two encore screenings atThe Director’s Guild in Los Angeles.

Thomas then collaborated with director and friend Charles Stone III (Drumline, Mr. 3000) on Charles’s short film TRUE, which spawned into a series of Budweiser Commercials entitled Whassup?, starring Fred Thomas Jr., Charles Stone III, Scott Brooks and Paul Williams. This campaign lead the group into interviews on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Hollywood Squares, Regis and Kelly, an ABC Disney Primetime Special, a sitcom pilot for Paramount and over 200 television and radio interviews globally and won the Grand Prix Award, Canne Film Festival, Cleo Award in Advertising and a Black Emmy Award.
