is a Senior Manager at Deloitte and Touche, where he specializes in grant writing and program design of community, economic and workforce development initiatives. In his 16 year career in these fields, he has built partnerships across the public, private and non-profit sectors in 42 states to garner over $55 million in Federal and philanthropic grant support to address career ladders, skills development, “at risk” youth, neighborhood and regional economic transformation, and low-income homeownership. His professional experiences prior to Deloitte include: Regional Director, Strategic Partnerships LLC (a boutique firm); Assistant Vice President, National Community Reinvestment Act compliance at Citigroup; and Interim Director of the NYC Federal Empowerment Zone.
Brian has served on the Board of Directors of the NYC Habitat for Humanity and was a member of the Amtrak Customer Advisory Committee. He currently sits on the Alexandria-Arlington Workforce Investment Board and is Vice-Chair of the Alexandria Commission on Employment. Further, Brian has taught grant writing at the USDA Graduate School and urban studies at Columbia University and has published book reviews in academic journals of public policy and planning. He has graduate degrees in public policy and urban planning from Columbia University and B.A. in politics from New York University.
