A personal development coach, she provides one-on-one service
to clients for feedback and tools to assist their progress and achievement of their personal goals.  When working with organizations, Fields is a dynamic facilitator with an incredible ability to recognize individuality while continuing to create cohesion and team spirit.  She has also been a guest motivational speaker for business organizations, universities, high schools, sororities and church organizations.

For three years, Fields was the Consulting Director for the Roslyn School District, Bridging the Gap program in Long Island, New York.  Through this program, designed to bridge social and academic gaps for urban youth and their parents, she provided direct service via counseling, leadership workshops, communication skill development, guest speakers, cultural exposure and general advocacy.

She is a recipient of the 2001 Forty Under 40 Award, presented by the Network Journal, Professional and Business magazine.  Her company, Vernell Communications, has been featured in the 2003 Entrepreneurial Edition of the Black MBA Magazine, the Washington Business Journal, the Business Gazette, Washington Informer and the Afro American Newspaper.  Fields is a contributing author of the 1998 book entitled, Sister Strength, a collection of devotionals for and from African American Women.

Fields received her BA in Communications at Hampton University.  A graduate of the Darden Business School Executive Education at the University of Virginia, Columbia Business School, Institute for Not-for-Profit Agency Management, and Rutgers University, Leadership Management for Urban Executives Institute, she is a certified instructor for the Myers Briggs Type Indicator Professional Qualifying Program and is certified by EDGE, Educational Designs that Generate Excellence, to train youth in entrepreneurship.
